Midday Repast

After exploring the Pyramids of Giza, we will pause to rejuvenate with a meal at a local eatery, savoring traditional Egyptian cuisine (excluding beverages).

Ancient Memphis

Our journey proceeds to Memphis, the illustrious capital of the ancient empire from 3100 to 2040 BC and the ceremonial site for pharaonic coronations. Established by Narmer, regarded as the inaugural pharaoh, Memphis is strategically positioned in the Nile Delta. A monumental pink granite statue of Ramses II, discovered in 1820, now resides in a sheltered area to prevent further erosion, having once stood sentinel in central Cairo.

Bent Pyramid

In the seclusion of Dahshur, south of Giza, stands the Bent Pyramid,

an architectural enigma standing 90 meters tall, constructed by Sneferu, the progenitor of Khufu. This pyramid's unique shape marks a significant chapter in Egypt’s architectural evolution.

Red Pyramid

Nearby, the Red Pyramid signifies a pivotal advancement, showcasing a smooth-sided structure that heralds the transition from step pyramids like Djoser’s. At 105 meters high, its red granite entrance exudes an aura of timelessness.
