These ancient temples uncovered in 1813 and later relocated in 1960 with the assistance of the Egyptian government and UNESCO to protect them from the rising Nile waters, are marvels of ancient engineering and artistry. Ramses II constructed his temple to commemorate himself, with murals depicting his famed victory at the Battle of Kadesh. Nearby, the Nefertari Temple, dedicated to Ramses II's favorite wife among his many consorts, stands as a testament to his devotion. After your visit, you'll return to Aswan by flight and be driven back to your hotel.
